Empower Your Journey
No matter where you are in your journey, coaching can aid you in thinking through the tasks and dealing with range of emotions that comes with making a huge life transition.

Stage 1 - Leaving
Deciding to move abroad is a huge step. This could be a job transfer, desire for a change or wanting to see the world.
Tasks: secure a job, deal with possessions, handle banking, close accounts, cancel subscriptions, make travel plans, arrange housing in new country, handle mail...
Emotions: fear of leaving the familiar, saying goodbye to family and friends, sadness of dealing with cherished possessions, uncertainty of things working out in the new country, grief over the loss of your former life...

Stage 2 - Arriving
Once arriving in a new country there are many things that need to happen to begin to function.
Tasks: open a bank account, find a grocery store, get a government services number, find a vehicle, apply for a driver's license, adjust to the weather, access health care, set up with a pharmacy, understand taxes...
Emotions: culture shock, some things that are easy at home are hard here and somethings that are hard at home are easy here, language barriers causing isolation, fear of having made a mistake, uncertainty with co-workers, anxiety over having to navigate unfamiliar systems and bureaucracy...
Now the transition has happened, new habits and routines are developing and it is time to root yourself in your new country and reap the benefits of your new life.
Tasks: find your people, join a club, take advanced language lessons, travel throughout your new country and places nearby, become a regular at your favourite cafe, become familiar to the people in your community...
Emotions: sense of belonging and wellbeing, stability in relationships, expanding social contacts, fun traveling, hope for the future...
